Sad, very sad....

In light of Japan's earthquake and tsunami....a family member passed on of fourth stage breast cancer. Too much sadness.

There's something about these cookies.

I love this ccc recipe! I know I've been making them a lot. I've switched out the semi-sweet chocolate chips for milk chocolate chips and the a.p. flour with bread flour. I've tried it with both.

Mrs. Fields' Blue-Ribbon Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (*used Gold Medal Better for Bread Flour*)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup (packed) dark brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 sticks (1 cup) salted butter
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips (*used Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Chips*)

Directions
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In a medium bowl combine flour, soda, and salt. Mix well with wire whisk. Set aside. In a large bowl with an electric mixer, blend sugars at medium speed. Add butter and mix to form a grainy paste, scraping down the sides of the bowl. Add eggs and vanilla extract, and mix at medium speed until just blended. Do not overmix. Add the flour mixture and chocolate chips, and blend at low speed until just mixed. (Again, do not overmix.)

Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons onto an un-greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake low and slow for 18-22 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer cookies immediately to a baking rack or cool surface.

Baking nerd. Paper Love

I just been baking Chocolate Chip Cookies like crazy. I made Fantasy Fudge and Mrs. Fields' Blue Ribbon Chocolate Chip Cookies!
(My go-to recipe now and forever ~!! )

Mrs. Fields' Blue Ribbon Chocolate Chip Cookies and more is found at Mrs. Fields' blog:  Mrs. Fields Secrets. This is her REAL blog.

The Fantasy Fudge recipe is found on the back of the Kraft Marshmallow Creme bottle. The online recipe can be found here: Kraft Fantasy Fudge @ the Kraft website or here verbatim: http://www.christmas-cookies.com/recipes/recipe191.fantasy-fudge.html. Apparently, the recipe has changed a bit since the original was formed in a 9 x 13 in. pan using chocolate chips and the new is done in a 9 in. square pan using a melted semi-sweet chocolate bar.

Since it's a , I am trying to follow my resolutions.

My Resolutions are:
  1. Lose Weight. - So far I've lost 5 lbs. I love the Kinect.

Holidays are upon us!

I hope everyone has enjoyed their holidays thus far. Thanksgiving was a doozy for the entire family...we all got colds.

Now, the weather is really cooling down. Our pilot light pooped out, so we have no central heating. This week is so busy. We're running around doing holiday shopping, kids got flu shots, kiddy X-mas parties, and holiday baking galore! TV is about to croak, so we got a new LCD 32" Sony Brevia at Best Buy! Hubby caved and treated himself to an XBox360 with Kinect, and got Dance Central.

Goal this coming new year is BE MORE ACTIVE!! This baby/me weight has got to go!
