purchase...rowan biggy print dull from woolworks.

Wednesday, March 26, 2003

i have been very busy trying to finish my brother's hat and working. I have just received my order of Rowan Biggy Print in Cookie from woolworks and expecting ggh samoa in shade 16 from theknittinggarden.com. they had it out of stock for a bit, but now i am getting it in 5 business days. i am still awaiting my needles from jklneedles. i received an email about jklneedles.com being backlogged. oh well...sigh, i guess i can wait. i also joined rowan's international club. awaiting the membership package for that too. The other day i bought sz 8 circular needles in 16" and 23" from beverly's to try them out. my knitting needle collection is starting to grow.

i just recently received my big easy book and now i just got my rowan yarn yesterday.very exciting!! ^__^ now all i need are my sz 19 needles. my latest project is my brother's hat... i had bought circular needles sz 8 a while back when i was just started knitting but they are just tooo long... about 29 inches.... :P but i'm trying them out...i have some problems with tangling but its not too bad. i might just get 16 in. ones when i have some time over the weekend. when you work hard, knitting can be very therapeutic and relaxing. it's very zen.

i'd like to put these on my blog soon.

today i went crazy....i went back to woolworks bought some Rowan Big Wool 001 White Hot and 006 Merry Berry

this past saturday, i found The Good Housekeeping Illustrated Book of Needlecrafts by Cecilia K. Toth (Editor). it has some really good pictures. i guess i'm a visual learner as well. :)

on monday, i went to beverly's..bought bamboo needles sz 8 U.S. ...(the slippage from my aluminum needles was driving me crazy) and circular needles 8 U.S. 29" as well as some red heart acrylic 4-ply worsted in plum to make a hat for my niece. i would like to try the circular needles on the hat and see what the difference makes. and perhaps, i might get dps as well. who knows.

current scarf project: going along nicely, about 5 more inches to go. lol garter stitch. martha stewart living has an article on how to knit with really nice pictures and patterns as well. i picked the feb '03 issue up right away. ^^ call me a conformist. :P here is the online link: How to Knit. enjoy!

christmas was cool...

the day after christmas sucked....

to make myself feel better...i want to get the chunky scarf kit from yarn market. i loooooovveee the look of rowan's biggy print.

Thursday, December 19, 2002

its almost christmas. since i've scrapped the baby stuff project, my attempts at the scarf are okay. i've managed to learn the garter stitch, which is the easiest i've heard. i've had one snafu...apparently there was a fray in the first attempt. i've turned it into a coin purse, cuz the stitches were loose in some spots and the yarn frayed in some spots so there was some holes in it. i will probably embroider some flowers over the holes. ^^;; pictures of the coin purse coming soon. i went to japan town in sf and went to kinokuniya bookstore. i saw some really nice knitting books. i might attempt to try a chunky knit style scarf that i saw in these books. anyhoo seems like i'm running out of yarn soon for the scarf i'm working so off to michael's i go soon and hopefully have this done by january. ha-ha. :P

yesterday dave and i got our marriage certificate... we are getting married on jan 13. 2002.
